I've had two Luke 2 earlier on, loved the neck and pickups.. Hated the vintage trem.. I guess I'm a Floyd Rise guy still. Finally I got the guitar of my dreams. Had to spend about two hour to set it up.. I guess the neck dried up in the shop and instead of adjusting the trosrod they adjusted the bridge with the strings on...luckily no damage done. Here she is on relaxing on the couch.

I had the opportunity to buy a 1996 candy red these days, but the EMG's, I don't know..

What Floyd rose is that? Gotoh, OFR or Schaller?

Congrats. Love the L1 RI guitars. My favorite guitar bar none. They are amazing instruments. I think the Reissues are an improvement in a few ways to the original. YMMV. I like the bridge on the RI better and the angle of the trem bar as well. The necks on my reissues feel more like a subtle V than the original moderate V on the original. I know EBMM necks are hand sanded and slight differences can be introduced etc, but I find the RI necks to be more comfortable to my hands.

I can not remember how many springs were originally attached to the 'floyd' block in the RI. I currently run 2 springs on all of my L1 and L1 RI guitars with fantastic results.

There is something special about how the EMG's on this the alder body wood that works wonderfully with the CAE 3+SE and Mesa Triple/Dual rectifiers. Perhaps it's the omission of the "tone" knob. From glassy cleans to roaring distortion, thick defined tones that cut through the mix without that woolly flubby roundness in the lows. They really shine and have grind/grit, chime, and clarity as well as sing for smoking hot solos, (especially with the CAE). They clean up remarkably well.

I was trying to get a blue reissue a few years back here in the US, however for reasons I simply can not understand the L1 RI was never released in here unfortunately. I scoured the net and found a few in Europe but the shipping and mark up increased the price to something beyond reasonable for me. I still hope someday the L1 reissue makes its way to the US. Big Poppa would make my day if that becomes a reality.

Thanks:) I've been playing it for hours today without getting tired. Sounds amazing too. I've had two Luke 2's and an Axis before, great instruments too but this is special.. And it was the one I always wanted.. After I had my last Luke 2 I ended up building a custom Warmouth strat with as close specs I was able to get..when I saw the reissue I knew I had to buy it.. 2000$

How'd you find that? I'd love to have one of those, either original or a reissue. But I haven't had any luck coming across one.
 
Luke 1s rule! My 1993 Luke 1 has a neck profile that resembles my L3 because it's very skinny. The thinner and more v shaped, the better for me. I can't stand chunky guitar necks. It still performs great after all these years.
 
So even that I have stated I do not like the vintage vib on the Luke 2 I bought one.. Lol
So now I need to track down a L3 too..to complete the collection..

Nice! Congrats! I had a Luke I in the same color I bought back in 1993 and sold in 2000. I wish I still had it! Enjoy your new Luke!
