Hello,
I was wondering if jon or any of the other resident experts could help me out. I've setup my Super Sport according to the FAQ (www.ernieball.com/site/faq_guitar.php)

With the low E fretted at the 2nd and 12th fret, my relief at the 7th fret is about .006-.008". Is this about right? Too little, too much? I used a business card as a reference to get it down there.

(by the way, my action at the 12th fret with no strings fretted down is a little over 2/32" at both bass and treble sides. There is no buzzing thru the amp in both clean and cranked settings when picking or bending - HOORAY!)

My concern is that the truss rod is very tight now.. Hard to turn it in either direction and it gave a squeak when I last turned it to get the relief above..

Thanks in advance :)

i'm not sure about the truss rod tightness...but your action sounds like it is right on!

i have never had a truss rod wheel move that hard. always rolls quite easily

throw out the ruler 4 a minute.......
how does it feel to u ??????

Hi guys,
Actually the neck feels good to me, I like where the action of the strings are... but still, I am worried about the really tight truss rod and the squeak it made..

Don't worry about it. You didn't hurt it. What Tommy said is true. EVERY guitar is different. EVERY ONE. You want to make the neck as flat as possible without buzz. There is no one measuement that will work for every guitar. If it plays how you like it, you did it! Enjoy it.
