I'm not CS, but here's a reply!

It draws when plugged in to the stereo jack. only mags are active when in the mono jack and those don't need and current.

Its the other way around. Only the magnetic pickups are active when the cable is plugged into the stereo jack. When the mono jack is used, both the magnetics and piezo work.

Thanks guys!

So does it also draw current when the plug is in the mono-jack and the PU-switch is in magnetic position?

I'm thinking that it only draws current when the plug is in the mono jack, because when the plug's in the stereo jack only the mags are active. I'm pretty sure thats what it is, but you can always put in a call to CS to find out. They'll know for sure.

Not 100% sure, CS would definitely have the right answer but here is my .02. No matter what Jack you are plugging into it will draw current. The Batteries in active electronic systems, in this case the Piezo, is turned on by grounding out the circuit. Anytime you plug into any of the Jacks the circuit is completed, as far as the ground is concerned, so there for the battery is piezo is activated. The only reason you can't hear it on the Stereo Jack using a mono cable is because the leg, for lack of a better term, on the out put switch that sends out the piezo signal is grounded to the barrel on the cable. If you pull it out a bit though you will get piezo instead of magnetic.
Again not an expert on their system, so don't take my word for it, but this is how most active systems work.
Hope it helps.

I agree w/you Music Man. I believe any model EBMM w/the piezo system draws on the battery when plugged in either jack or jacks. Still the battery life should be around 150 hours give or take.
