Question for Petrucci model players

I know that EBMM uses Graphtech nuts on the JP, which are supposed to have some lubrication qualities, but I was wondering what kind of performance some of the JP players out there are getting from the specially designed bridge. Do the strings bind at all after heavy bends or trem usage? I've heard that you can't do any crazy stuff with this trem and expect it to stay perfectly in tune, but that doesn't concern me since my trem usage tends to be subtle. I've got a JP on order, and I'm just curious as to what kind of experiences other JP players are having with the bridge and locking tuners. I do know that I will be very happy with not having to deal with a Floyd Rose on this guitar!

I don't typically go crazy with the tremolo, but every now and then I'll do huge dives like you would with a Floyd and I've had zero problems with mine. Yes, it will go out of tune if you use the trems heavily and an awful lot, but my Floyds would too and that's why they had fine tuners. Strings will stretch and go out of tune with any type of locking trem, single or double. But so far, it's the best single locking I've used.

Thanks for your response Paul, I'm just curious as to how well the trem stays in tune without the locking nut. I agree that any trem can go out of tune with heavy usage, but I've had a couple of Schaller Floyds and actually tried to make them go out of tune, and it was almost impossible to do so. I'm just tired of having to deal with locking nuts and bridges, and am looking forward to using a simpler bridge design. From what I've read and heard so far, the Petrucci trem stays in tune very well.

Well, you may already know this, but the JP model has Schaller locking tuners which work VERY well. They lock on the back of the headstock. So not only is it easier to change strings on than a double-locking, but you do get the advantage of having those locks hold it in tune quite well.

I have tried out several PRS CE22s with similiar type Trems as the Petrucci and the JP has more travel and stays in tune better as well.
I also own a custom Rahan Hijo with a great Wilkinson Trem and the JP trem outperforms this one also. In fact the JP trem was a main reason for purchasing it as well as it's overall performance and sound.
