Question: Is the Cutlass tremolo standard or F-spaced?

Hello,

I've always been unclear on the distinction, so maybe someone can help. If I want to remove my bridge single coil and install a humbucker, should I get standard or F-spaced? I know there's a circuit board in the guitar. Will that make it any different when installing a new pickup? Thanks

Hi Daniel, you should buy an F spaced pickup for the bridge pickup.

You’re welcome. I just bought a humbucker for my Cutlass. It is a DiMarzio AT-1, the Andy Timmons pickup. I haven’t had it installed yet. I finally picked out the neck and middle pickups I want so I need to order them. I’m going with a Satch Track neck and for the middle, the Cruiser bridge pickup. I will disconnect the silent circuit.

That AT-1 is amazing. Andy is THE coolest guy. I took a handful of lessons from him ages ago. He did wonders for my confidence.

A while back I put one of the AT-1's in a SBMM Valentine and it sounded AMAZING. Great pick up IMHO.
