OK FOLKS!!!!!! Sorry for the wait but the Radiance Red Eagle landed Friday from Dubaldos!!!!! Been busy since(including a Toto concert last night I'll cover in a separate thread). Here's my initial inpressions on the plank---beautifully made, wonderful fit and finish, heavier than expected(this is a good thing), extremely resonant,I love the neck(the V is great for thumb floppers like myself),I love the feel of the neck(never had an unfinished neck before). The neck is a bit slimmer than I'm used to(I have great big paws) but I'm getting used to it. The trem is set up lighter than I'm used to and I have a tendency to lean on the brige when I hybrid pick(pick and fingers)--so thats an adjustment. The string tension is much lighter than a str**. So here's where I'm goin wrong. I'm used to wraslin and beating on a str** or Te** to make it speak---the luke requires a much lighter touch---it is so resonant and set up so nicely you dont have to pound it to make it speak------so I'm basically overplaying the guitar and essentially choking it off. That said-----it is a beautiful instument and I love it. I'll adjust to it in a few days playin like any other axe---it may have even show some flaws in my style!!! BTW--the p/u's are wonderful--I havent even scratched the surface of those suckers yet(the neck has a beautiful single coil tone!!!) I have only one concern---the case seems overly large for the Luke---it semms like it rocks side to side a bit even when closed----anybody else notice this???? So, without further adieu, here are the pix-----check out that birdseye baby!!!!!!

Check this...I didnt even know EBMM MADE guitars until a little over 2 years ago. I was searching, out of sheer frustration with my available guitars (an LP standard 96, a mustang and 2 strats, 1986 start plus and a 1994 anniversary). I was calling jackson, and looking at custom builders to get hat I wanted at the time(24 frets, hardtail, reliable, locking tunuers, etc). Then I did a little research and found my first Silhouette, all white H/S/H hardtail. I've never looked back, and I sold everything else I owned from then on out. Especially the LP...which is the biggest waste of money I have ever spent on a damn guitar!!!!! Love the EBMM!!then, after more reserach with all the other EBMM guitars I found the Luke. Lets just say, I've seen the light! I got one on order, another for Friday. DAMN STRAIGHT!!!!!

Congrats! Treat her well.

Rad Red is the sluttiest of all EBMM colors, don't let it get you into any trouble. :D

It's funny you mention that Olorin, cause when I talk to the guys at a couple of guitar shops that carry EBMM, in my area, they say customers have the same stories. I don't know if it's a case of people being brainwashed into thinking that if you're going to have good guitars, they've got to be Gibson or Fender, or if it's because people are bombarded with ads from those two companies, which steers them in that direction. But they say a lot of people do come into the stores not knowing a lot about EBMM, but when they try them and eventually buy them (because they are such great instruments at a great price) the customers don't look back. I fortunately did know about EBMM, but it was a money issue for me. But know I can say I'm a proud owner of EBMM guitars and I'm not looking back:)

just about every guitar student of mine occasionally stares at the headstock, wondering "what the hell is an ernie ball?" then i give em a go......

and when they ask about upgrading their guitar to a Fender or gibson or Ibanez, i tell EBMM exsists. follow the light my child......
