Repair dent in Valentine neck

I've got a small ding in the neck of my Valentine. Usually I'd put a damp cloth over the spot and heat it with a soldering iron to repair it, but I wonder if that's safe to do on an oiled and waxed neck? Anyone know if it's ok?

Totally doable. My Silhouette Special fell onto the legs of a drum stool and left two lovely not-very-small dents in the back of the neck, which I'm now hard pressed to find.

It's worth a shot, I've done that for people on more than a few necks over the years.

I shall report back. Fortunately, the dent is small and right in the middle of the neck behind the 7th fret, so it's not very noticeable the way I hold it.
