Rescue Job

To anyone who can help;

I am new to these forums as i have just come by an '88 stingray in need of some TLC. the problems with the bass are mainly electronic - the previous owner started a "customisation" and took out all the original electronics. He didn't finish the job and I subsequently got hold of the instrument (cheap!) together with all of the original electronics.

The problem is they need to be rewired into the instrument, and I need a wiring diagram/schematic to complete the job and return it to its former glory. the only part I need is a new jack socket but it has a lot of terminals and I don't know where to get one.

I don't want to pay anyone else to do the job, being an electrical engineer, but its a bit different to factories and the like!
If anyone can point me in the right direction i would be most grateful.

I dont know how adept that you are at installing preamps but if it were me I think it may be worth it to pay a person or shop that is familiar with MM basses.Trust me it is not worth the hassle to do this unless you really know what you're dealing with.

In the helpful spirit that everyone else here on these boards offer, here is the link that EBMM has for the diags and schematics:

It's kinda generic, but could be a starting point, at least. You may be able to get a more detailed schematic via EBMM themselves, but see how this helps ya out. And yes, there may (obviously) be differences betwen previous and current Stingrays, but I wouldn't think there's much. Usually when you get a good thing going, as EBMM did with most of their products, you want not to try to "fix" it.

i'll try soon, i'll have to get my dad with his digital camera to help.
the actual electronics look in good condition, everything is there, except for the jack socket which the previous owner destroyed taking it out. i'm actually thinking of getting it repaired professionally as the bass could do with a set-up and general service anyway.
