I started this project a long time ago, almost a year ago actually, but it's just been sitting idle for a while because I always seemed to keep getting sidetracked and not finishing this... but no longer!

My first Ernie Ball/Music Man Silhouette Special is a graphite pearl one with a rosewood fretboard - I have another one that's pewter with the abalone pickguard and maple neck. I wanted to change the pickups from an SSH to an HH setup with a 5-way switch to make it more different than the pewter one, which is SSS.

The pickups are a DiMarzio PAF Pro in the neck, and a FRED in the bridge. The switch is a 5-way that lets me get full neck bucker, split neck bucker, both humbuckers in parallel, split bridge bucker, and full bridge bucker. The pickguard was made by Chandler in matte black.

Wow! You must've hacked at it, yeah? Looks great, I'd love to play it.

I used a router to widen the neck pickup slot to accomodate a humbucker, but aside from that all i had to do was build a new pickguard assembly, disconnect the silent circuit, and wire everything up!

The mod is reversible but I don't ever intend on selling the guitar or reversing the mod. :D
