Roundwound strings and fret wear

I'd like to ask someone from EB to answer this question:

What factors contribute to fret wear ? Is the surface profile (roundwound vs flat) more important than hardness of the wrap wire? Do nickel plated steel wound strings really help reduce fretwear. Does a lower tension string have any effect on fret wear postive or negitive?

Does playing stryle matter.?........I don't slap at all and have a rather soft attack with my fingers......I let the amp do the work

I have two new Ernie Ball basses and have the nickel plated Slinkys on them.....I wonder about fret wear with these strings. .....

Thanks
