I have one and I love it. It just sounds great and the neck is like a dream for my hands. It's made in the good old USA and has a nice price tag. Best money I ever spent.

I think there's still a fair few owners on these boards - well i'm sure i see them listed on their sig anyways. fwiw i owned 3 (2 guitars and a bass) and I'm always looking for another (single pup with trem would be ideal)
all of mine played much the same as any Silo or Ray i've owned in the past and the same attention to build was there.they also had their own particular vibe, like any other musicman model.
the prices for them used are a fair bit higher than they were a year ago when I moved on mine and I dont see so many about either now so people are obviously holding onto their SUBs.
they were discontinued because they were becoming too expensive to make.
enjoy owning it.

I have one. Makes a great back up to the Silo Spec.

I actually traded it to some guy on Craigslist for an Ibanez S470. I think I made out on that deal ;)

I'm hoping I can get some. Just a matter of time, money (i.e., right price), the condition of the instrument, and opportunity.

I like the SUB Sterling and SUB Bass. The guitar is good too.

The Sub1 kicks total ass, it's my main guitar at the moment while my silo is having some work. There's something about the Sub that is just inspiring, plus it sounds amazing, I love the pickups.

It is definitely no less a guitar than any of the other MM's ;)

If you do a search on the forum there is plenty of discussion on the Sub and one from BP on the reason for it being discontinued.

For the record, i have one (it was my first Ball) and it is a great guitar...just doesnt get much of a look in now :( but blame EBMM for that what with JP6s and Axis' and all that :)

I'm new here, I have a SUB 1 and I love it. The pickups sound like DiMarzio's. If anyone had any other info on the pickups, I would be a happy man

Why exactly did they go out of production? They had 2 at GC recently, played one and realized why EB makes the best guitars known to man. Plus the sweet price tag. Was the problem just lack of interest, or rising US production costs or something?

The best American guitar for the money. GC was (is) selling them for as little as $399. I can't think of another guitar anywhere near that quality for that price. I just want to know who makes the pickups!

I really like the Cinnamon one, it almost looks like a sparkle in the photo. It's too bad they couldn't still make these at even a higher price, but less then the others models. Maybe with some different options like different body wood and maybe a single coil version.

I have no doubt that anybody who bought one of these as their first EBMM guitar will be buying more EBMM guitars in the future. I also like EBMM's commitment to quality instead of being concerned with just grabbing a piece of the market.
