Sad day for bass community - and me! None-EBMM topic!!

To moderators: I apologise for posting a non-EBMM-related topic, especially about a competitor. But this is a great forum and I really need an opinion. Nevertheless, if you decide to remove this thread, I'll understand.

Five minutes ago I was browsing FenderForum.com and to my shock I've read a post regarding Reverend. They are discontinuing their basses and Joe Naylor himself confirms it, claiming that they are losing money from the basses.



Just a month ago, I ordered a Brad Houser 5 model from them with 6-8 weeks build-time. I even made full advance payment. Although I really wanted to have that bass, I honestly would think twice if I knew about this. I am a little bit dissapointed at them, since I would expect them to tell me about it during my order. Furthermore, I am concerned whether or not they will now "care less" in building my bass.

I am now torn between cancelling my order - I think I have a right to do that, or just getting my bass, because I really heard good things about it.

Your opinion is much appreciated.

if they are discontinuing their basses or going to bankcruptcy ...

this may means ... no further customer service for reverend basses? in the long run ? i dont know .... could that be ... ? if that's true would be a bad news, meaning no tech support, no forum, no spare parts (maybe), no customer service, no warranty for your bass in the long run

maybe at this point
i think canceling would be wise, i know the wait time is painstaking but (reasons above ... )

cancel it and get a Bongo 5 i think haha

I wouldn't cancel. Reverend will remain in business, building guitars and amps. But only about 5% or something like that of their sales are basses. Just not profitable.

Naylor and company are good people, even if they aren't EBMM. Look at it this way - you may have the last of the great Reverend basses.

Support will be there.

I've seen pictures of your bass. An even more weird finish on an already weird looking bass Mine is sky blue.

I think I won't cancel, but still I feel.... you know.... sad...
