One of the biggest reasons why lurkers dont post is that some of the regulars intimidate and dominate. Love you regulars, but if you dont have anything to add to the post then go to the next thread. This makes for a more of an interesting place.

+1
Now that's funny

What's to be afraid of???

I'm new to all of this forum stuff but I have noticed that its really offputting when a thread is transformed into a personal conversation between two regulars. It doesn't happen all that often but when it does I get so mad I have to go play my guitar..... .......!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!................................???????????????.........................................................................oh hell, is my interest in this forum a way of avoiding painful dark truths about my inadequecies as a guitarist? Is chatting with all you heavy guitar slingers a way of making myself feel like a serious player without putting in the work or effort? Is the reason that Frank Zappa, Allan Holdsworth, John Scofield, Bill Frisell never appeared on forums that they were practicing till their fingers bled....

Dude, no need to get so deep. Relax, take a deep breath and relax, go to your happy place.

All the more reason to hang around, then! Your playing will improve so much with all that practice! ;)

Really, when a thread goes off into conversation between 'regulars' (and I use that term with caution ;)) there's no reason why you can't jump in.. nobody will mind. Or, you can stop reading the thread at that point if it is getting tiring. I know that I end up doing that sometimes, I just lose interest in the thread and skip through it. It doesn't hurt either way! :)

If I get into a convo and it's getting you mad....say something. I post all the time.....because no amount of practice is gonna make me a rock star!

Here lately, I post quite a bit due to the fact I am out of town and don't have my guitar to keep me company. Sorry, I am babbling again......

Look you have to take the good with the bad...sometimes things go off topic and something really good or funny, or insightfful happens. Sometimes guys and gals get stupid. That is just what happens when people interact. I think that you can't regulate creative flow. I am sorry you get mad, I would hope that this is a place that you could leave anger at the door.

I believe every great musician as they were growing up used every available form of media and information that they could get their hands on to learn more. If there were forums you can damn sure that they would read and post. They had idols and inspirations. They didnt grow up in a cage with just thier guitar practicing.

I want to thank you for your feelings and thoughts because is reminds us that we can get a little carried away. Everybodies idea of the forum is different, I like this one

Dont get mad....get even!
