I picked up an SBMM Albert Lee model last week and just noticed that the gap at the base of the neck looks...a little wider than normal (see pictures). Am I just being nitpicky, or should I try to exchange it for another one?

Looks like the neck shifted? I would also wonder why the truss rod "wheel" is that far from the base of the neck. It should be directly against the neck. Was this a new guitar?

It looks like someone may have unscrewed the truss rod wheel until it started pushing the neck out of the pocket. It should be snug against the NECK, not the body side of the neck cavity.

The neck looks aligned, but that gap is strange.

I'd exchange for another one.

The neck looks aligned but that is an unusually large gap. Yes, truss rod wheel looks like it's screwed right out. All thigs considered, I'd be talking to the store about it.
