So after purchasing Schaller strap locks for my two new guitars, I went to put on the strap on my Godin LGX which comes with schaller locking pins from factory (i've had it from new so it hasn't been messed with).

The strap wouldn't lock on the Godin. The pin was larger (only by a very small amount).

The Schaller locks that I bought from eBay even though seem to be of high quality nickel, are probably fake.

Bought a new set from my local music store and the lock fitted perfectly on the Godin pin.

I'll be replacing the ebay items on my mm's as I ain't prepared to take the risk.

Just a heads up.

Unfortunately bought them from a private seller, I guess he may have realised it himself.

Very hard to see from the photos, size wise it's hard to see the difference other than the lettering being different.

Could it be just a bad batch?

The one on the left is the ebay one.

Doesn't fit, no way.

Id be surprised if its a bad batch, you could try schaller direct, send them the picture just in case it is real, they may replace it.

I've used these for 15 years and never had a problem.

When I watch your picture, it looks to me as the strap-clips are ok but the pin isn't the good one.

When I started my journey on the "MM only" road, I switched to Dunlop straplocks with Souldiers straps and I'm very satisfied as well.

There are a lot of fake Schallers out there. After buying many dodgy ones from eBay, I now just get the real thing from Sweetwater. They are a few bucks more expensive but they always fit!

Just buy Ernie Ball Super locks. I love 'em!

Anyway, EBMM forum and we're discussing the competitor's products? I need to lcok this thread.

Thanks for the head's up!
