Hi all, new to the site, just bought a 2010 Ernie Ball Music Man Steve Morse Signature Y2D Purple Sunset with Floyd Rose and the strings are too high. Can someone please point me in the right direction for where I can learn about the set up process of this guitar? Thanks!

Welcome to the forum family!

There is a section specifically about the Morse Y2D with Floyd in the FAQ section on the Music Man website...

Have a read through. Any questions, come back here and we'll be happy to help!

Hey man, congrats on your SMY-2D. I have one and I absolutely love the guitar. It is so stable I can pick it up after a month and the thing will be perfectly in tune, even better than my other Floyd’s, and I love the neck.

Your guitar would sit up no different than any other Floyd, you shouldn’t have any problem.

No Doubt Razzle! Just picking up this guitar and holding it in your hands you know by the very feeling this is an incredibly well built piece. Compared to all of my other instruments it feels like a Rolls Royce compared to a Pinto. What is even more awesome is that I found if I am playing a little rough on a particular day, it actually makes my mistakes sound complimentary. WOW! So my challenge is that the Floyd is floating forward too much, as is you were pressing forward on the trem bar, which makes for the trem not being flush with the rest of the guitar. I have tried adjusting the screws in the back, even repositioning the springs, nothing works. DrKev, I have looked for the area you mentioned and cant find it, have you a link? thanks guys!
