Sick MM!

My MM has losted its punch! Validated that the battery was not the issue or either amps. My Fender P and Jazz basses (passive) blew the MM out of the room! Right now I have it my favorite repair shop to get that punch back. I play improvisational jazz and blues and use my Fenders for that, and the MM was being introduced as potentially my primary bass instead of secondary.

Out of sheer morbid curiosity...why didn't you call Customer Service instead of airing that post?

I'll be curious to hear what was causing a "lack of punch" if it isn't the battery.

I'll guess a faulty pot or the pickup is lower than it used to be, etc etc. Customer Service.

I am thinking that it might be the flavitz inducer or the flux capacitor, but customer service will be better at helping you than me. Good luck and welcome to the board. Oops, I hope this doesn't start a bad flavitz inducer pandemic.

Thanks and the problem was a fried preamp. Replaced it with a Basslines preamp

- sounds like a classic case of bypassing the outboard amp
and plugging the bass directly into 120VAC

No.....Why a Basslines preamp?

He probably ended up with a Basslines pre because he did not call customer service. The only way to get the correct replacement pre would be to call and swap the fried one for a new one plus costs. Right?
