Silent Circuit Question

Can someone tell me when the "silent circuit" was first used on the Albert Lee model or has it always been part of the electronics package?
 
I'm not sure when it was first introduced but I had a 96 model that didn't have it. As soon as Jimi reads your question though he'll most likely have more info for you. He is a very helpful.
 
I asked Beth Wreden in Customer Services this same question about a year ago, and she told me that all the ALs built prior to 2001 were built without the Silent Circuit.
