Slap That Bongo

I've only played Bongos with two pickups and found that slap was pretty tough - since the pickup near the neck would sometimes interfere with the flow of your fingers. Has anyone else had this problem?

Have any of you played the single Humbucker Bongo's? Slapping would certainly be easier with that setup, but I assume you'll lose a lot of the variety that the Bongo can deliver.

YES. I think it's even WORSE on the single humbucker Bongo, cos the edge of the pickup is sharper than the soapbar pickup.

I think it's the worst flaw of the Bongo.

I thought the same thing but think of it as a challenge.
The S/H config may help here but I'd wait until bovine gets his S/H and gives us a S/H vs. H/H review. According to BP, the H/H config has more balls & a tad more versatility.
