I'm always hankerin' for another Morse guitar, and Joe Webb's recent video post has got me fired up.

Best part is that SWMBO says she like the De-Purple color best in his video, and I could live with that! :)

Question 1: I've only seen flame tops, is there also quilted?

Question 2: Most appear to have a maple front headstock, but I've seen a few with matching color headstock. What's the deal on them? Only certain years or something?

Question 3: I understand this is a discontinued color, so I have to find second hand - right?

Thanks for helping feed my sickness! :)

I believe that getting them either quilted or flamed was an option. Matching headstock was also an option. AFAIK, the color is discontinued.

kestrou, GC has a few de-puprple burst on their platinum-room website.
there were quilt and flame tops, matching headstock is an option on the Y2D, so some have it, some doesn't.

the color was discontinued as EBMM released the solar flare and black burst colors. i think it was in january 2013 - if i remember right.

at the beginning i didn't liked the matching headstock on de-purple burst, but time goes by and i changed my mind.
today i would go with mh on this color.

Gang - update!

I now have a De-Purple (plain headstock, which I think I prefer) en route from craigslist - and the seller actually also had a Sunset Purple for sale too which my wife liked a lot once she saw pics - so they're BOTH en route! :)

Pics when they arrive gentlemen.

You just Shazzamed the forum! (These two plus the true gold)
Once they arrive you are on active leave from the forum for a week until you get your head straight from all the awesomeness incoming at once. Joe Web, Kestrou is on your heels, lol.

I was looking for a De-Purple, but once I got to looking wifey said she liked the Sunset Purple better - like to show her what I'm shopping for (most of the time) so she feels included.

So when I found a great looking De-Purple selling by a guy who was also selling a Sunset Purple thought I'd be nice and offer to get the second one for her (no she doesn't play, but considers a handful of the dozens of guitars "hers" and doesn't mind me playing them :) ) - because that's just how great of a husband I am!!!

But once I got the deal done on those two and got some good high-res pics of them both in hand - she decided that the De-Purple is HERS. Oh well, she may change her mind again once they both arrive and she checks out the quilt on the both (she's a sucker for quilt, but aren't we all?) - but it doesn't really matter.

The True Gold was pure happenstance - just one of those "I wasn't looking, but couldn't pass it up" deals that I'm glad soupçon doesn't consider a "snipe". Oh yeah, wifey doesn't know about this one yet - but going to be hard to hide a gold guitar (that isn't single cutaway with a Gibby headstock) when it arrives. ;)

Now if somebody happens to have a first run Darklord with all the candy - or another one of the first 50 Morses - then I can go for four or five!!!

WOW MAN!!! unbelievable!!!
you snagged 3 at a time, awesome!!!
can't wait to see pictures of the new addition.
btw. i was thinking about the true gold one as well.....glad you got it, this saves me a lot of money and trouble with my wife. ;)

One thing I noticed with the Y2D is that the Floyd Rose tremolo is the most responsive Floyd I've ever played with -- not that I'm mostly comparing this with the Ibanez trems such as in RG750.
