OK brainiacs, here is a stumper...we know that artists play Silos and Axes, but do artists play the Steve Morse, the Albert Lee, or the Petrucci (we know Blues Saraceno place a LUKE)? Well?

Dweezil Zappa plays a customized Albert Lee... Oh ya, and Paul McCartney has one too (he got the first [and only?] lefty)... and I'm sure that seven stringers all over the world are riffing on the Pet in the studio (if not on stage) by now...

Steve Stevens plays a EVH sometimes.
Jerry Cantrell played an EVH for while.
I haven't seen anyone with a Morse that I can think of.

At the moment all of my old guitars (Plaid guitars, Yamaha Samick, Ibanez ) are all on the "Hard Rock Cafe" walls somewhere in the world. (I don't even know where). At the moment the only guitars I am actually playing are the "Ernie Ball" guitars.
My main guitar is an Ernie Ball music man gold sparkle "Albert Lee" which was build for me by a gentleman name Dudley Gimble at the Ernie Ball shop. In my opinion the Ernie Ball is the best quality guitar and Bass that are made today for new guitars and that is why I have been playing them. My guitar is an alder body with 1/2 inch maple top. I had them put a maple-top on it for more cut, more punch closer to a Les Paul. I have a maple neck which is very large (I have always had big necks on my guitars) I use 2 Seymour Duncan humbuckers pick ups in it. They change from guitar to guitar, I use everything like if they have tremolo in them, I will use my own model Trembucker in it. But they range from Seth lovers to custom customs.
As far as strings I use Ernie Balls 10's slinkys.I have been friends with Sterling Ball for a long time. I actually met him at a NAMM show about many many years ago.
About 4 or 5 years ago he said just let me make you a guitar, I'll make you the best guitar you've ever had. He made good on his promise and that is the one I play today.

It's really hard to get other artists to play another guys signature guitar. The Silohouette bass is a great example. When I was working with EVH he had a danelectro six string bass that was a little suspect. I said let us make you one. So Dudley made him one actually made out of masonite but with a normal maple top in the evh shape . It was used a lot on several VH records. When I told Keith Richards tech about it he said Keith would love a better six string bass, bought would not consider playing one shaped like Eddies, Since Keith was using the Silhoutte almost exclusively, we made the bass that you can buy now.
It is really better to have an artist play an existing model. It is easier to get other Pro's to play it and music stores only have so many spots on the wall. Our strategy on the signature guitar is not as a marketing tool, but a pairing of our company and few select world class players to try to move the guitar forward inch by inch

Yes, it was broadcasted by the Dutch television network, my father recorded it on a VHS (13 years ago) and copied it to a DVD. Ít's a show in Den Bosch, The Netherlands, and sometimes a DVD of the same show appears on Ebay (there's a French guy who sells Toto and Lukather bootlegs all the time)

I read on Petrucci's forum that Vinnie Moore got a Pet. Some guy was going on about how he'd never play a guitar with someone else's name on it. If I'm not mistaken it was Paul Warren's reply that mentioned that Vinnie got a JP and loved it.
