Simple...GAS and impatience...no biggie, I knew all along that you'd wind up with this bass, you ordered it and it's one heck of a nice combo in my opinion James. I never would have thought to order a maple board with a matching headstock but it came out killer.

That pretty much nails it. :p

As far as the matching HS, I normally wouldn't order that, but it looked so damn-good with the Maple FB on the "Build An Instrument" page that I couldn't pass it up!
 
You certainly made good use of the proceeds from the GP Bongo. I really like Trans Gold. I've been considering ordering a Trans Gold HH SR5 later this year. The only reason I sold the Trans Gold 'Ray I had was the exact opposite of why you sold me the Bongo. I almost never play a 4 string anymore.

Yeah, my wife gave the old "Why are you getting another 5-string bass? You always end up getting rid of them anyway" bit.
