My hometown of Aiea might be the only place in the U.S.A. whose name has no consonants. If that doesn't qualify for strange, it at least counts as trivia. :D
 
Michigan has a host of odd names.

They have a;

Flushing
Gay
Hell
Climax

and as a notable addition I-75 Exit 69 Big Beaver :eek:

(it's not close to Climax though)

Well I guess I should also have mentioned Cockermouth!
 
Well, there's a town in Pennsylvania called "Intercourse".

We also have a Big Beaver township, which is in Beaver county, along the Big Beaver river!

There's a town about 30 minutes north of Pittsburgh called "Mars".
And we have "Moon" township in Allegheny county, and one in Beaver county as well!

At the intersection of Interstate 80 and PA Route 8 is a town called "Barkeyville". I always stop there on the way to my camp.

We've got a town called "Slate Lick" to the north and slightly east of Pittsburgh.

I live 30 kilometres from a place called Hell in Norway. In norwegian hell actually means luck. Hell has a festival called Hell music festival, at which Deep Purple will play this summer. Last year Steve Morse Band attended the festival. They even did a clinic. Probably the closest I'll ever come to a religious experience ;) I also know a place in Norway called Bimbo.
 
theres a nice part in Beavis and Butt-Head Do America that covers this, if anyone besides me has that kind of sense of humor :D
