There is a 30th SR4 on eBay right now going for $1575 with a buy it now and no starting bid price. Is this a fair price for this or do you think a better deal is possible out there?

The matching 30th case is included.

Brand new, the going rate was 1750. Now GC has been blowing stuff out (post-NAMM clearance to make room for new things, I guess) and a few guys have found them for much less than 1750. There seems to be no rhyme or reason to where you might find one dirt cheap - or why.

If it's brand new, pristine condition, not used, then that price is good. Not great, considering what's been going on with the 30ths at GC, but still a good price.

If it's used - not so much. Although really, I wouldn't sell mine for less than 1500 and it's certainly not new anymore. But that's just a question of what it's worth to ME, I suppose.

This one is used and it has a nick on the headstock so I guess this isn't a great price. My GC doesn't have one in stock so I guess an opportunity to buy one might be far and few between. I would expect these basses to ultimately appreciate in value since they were limited runs but it is still a lot of money to pay for a used bass.

Check GC Online for used/demo deals. If you're not dead-set on a 30th, check out this Cream LE Ray: "+imgCaption+".

I'll check that out on their website. Since I already have to SR4's (fretted and fretless) I'm not really interested in getting another Ray unless it's something special like the 30th.

Go back about 4 pages and check the thread "What's a fair price for this SR4 30th?" there is mention of one at the Youngstown GC for $799 in good condition. it'd make that ugly 3 hr. drive worth it.

Might want to ask them to disclose any shopwear on that one to you over the phone before making that 3 hour drive. A guy at a GC local to me told me they had one in "good condition", but when I got there, it had 2 very nasty dings ... one on the headstock, and a real nasty/large one on the body. So, there's alot of wiggle room with the use of that phrase "good condition".

That price is not good. You can get deals on dead mint new ones from online shops for about 50 more. Shipped.

I checked the Guitar Center website and they had a used one for $1,399.99 at a store in Charleston, SC I believe. It looked nice in the pic but it didn't appear to come with the case or any case at all. The $799.99 deal sounds very suspicious to me. I would want pictures for sure before I make that trip.

Don't look for one at basscentral.
Before they had the price listed I called and they told me $1999 for one of the two they had left...and that the last one would be higher. I laughed , said no and bought a 2007LE SR4 instead.
They even have a used one for the same price on their site.
So rare they have 4 in stock LOL.
