Hi everybody,

I have been reading a little over here for the last few weeks and am now the happy owner of a Steve Morse model guitar. After a little truss rod tweak it works very nice, but I have two little problems.

1. There is a buzzing/vibrating thing going on located at the bridge of the a string. Help me getting rid of this please!

2. I never had locking tuners, and I noticed that the thumbwheel of the low e string tuner doesn't sit flat on the lower fixed part of the tuner. I mean, it looks like if it was screwed in slanted. I tried to screw it out and in to correct it, but it doesn't want to be as I think it should (I am German by the way, and maybe I am a little perfectionist...) Is that something to worry about? It seems it does what it should (locking the string down, that is).

Any input is welcome. And no, I don't have pics at the moment. Yes, it is the blueburst without matching headstock. :D

Thanks,
Jochen

Well, diagnosing a buzz on any given string can be a bit of a pain - try holding the bridge hardware in place with a finger and see if the buzz goes away to narrow the issue down. And does it happen when your jacked into your amp only, or when you're playing "acoustically" as well?

As for the locking tuners, they're Schallers, so they're German too! which means there's no way the screw in the back should be crooked. And I do believe you should be able to unscrew it all the way from the gear housing. Either someone did that and then forced it back into place on an angle, or it's received a knock somewhere that forced it out of true...
