Dude, they had them at the Factory during the Open House. Look if a neck is trashed for some reason why not put it to good use, make a coat hanger out of it!!! Makes sense, then it's not scrap.

They have body parts as book ends, I thought that was smart!!

They all go through that stage in the factory during construction. The pegs are to provide gripping handles when applying the oil/wax mixture to the neck.

Once that step is done, they grind off the pegs and fill in the holes with rosewood plugs. The one in the picture probably had a blem so they decided not to finish it.
