Well, just got home from rehearsal with my new StingRay5, maple fretboard, white finish with matching headstock and white pearloid pickguard (no piezo). This instrument sure makes a big positive difference over the tone that I was getting with my Jazz bass prior to this, amazing. Just wanted to stop in and say hi.

The StingRay5 gets great tones, and is a pleasure to play. It definitely much better than any Fender bass. IMHO Fender 5 string basses are really bad with that sloppy, floppy B string.

I just registered. I'm waiting on my SR5 to arrive. I ordered December 26th [i'm 16-$600 of the cost was christmas money, $800 was money that i saved] & anticipated time of arrival is: from the last week of March to the last week of April hopefully [3-4 months]. The bass that i ordered was a SR5, cherry sunburst, maple fretboard, black pickguard. I pretty much ordered a bass that they had on their walls with the exception of the fretboard [the one they had had a rose wood board]. I have been playing for about 5 years now. I didn't think that i should start a new thread since there already was a stingray5 newbie thread. If any of you are a member of talkbass.com i go by FenderJazzCam there-my first bass was a Fender Stand. Jazz. Thats all
