I saw an indie rock band called My Hotel Year play last night and their bassist had this amazing Stingray finished in the now discontinued Stratus Blue Sparkle with Rosewood fretboard and matching headstock. Simply gorgeous. This was the combination I originally wanted before I bought my trans teal. Well now I'm craving it more than ever. Anyone know of a place that might have an old unsold one or even used one?

Haha. I think that's my bass also. A post I did a while ago should have the pic. Or you can check out Rod's website of MusicMan basses to see it (there's another one that's not mine above it, with piezo, and other options).

As to where you can get these beauties... I don't know. I got mine on eBay - try checking there once in a while.

But... lately I've been having some second thoughts about this bass. If I had bigger hands, maybe I could handle it as well as I handle my ESP B205. This might just be a phase I'm going through due to switching my primary bass.

Maybe... I could sell mine to you? That is, if I can confirm this feeling of uncertainty to be a permanent and lasting one about getting this bass.

Haha

Here's the pic I was refering to:

You can't really see the sparkle, but it's there.

Check out Rod's website of Music Man basses. On the gallery page, there's another similar bass but with more high-end features. I think it's under the name of "Phil." The sparkle really shows on that one.

Also, take heed to the fact that I was considering selling my bass. I haven't reached a decision yet and I'm afraid that I won't until some significant time has passed. Sorry.

But like I said, try checking out eBay once in a while to see if anyone may be selling their's. These are the search terms I used:

"music man -olp bass" and "musicman -olp bass"

I did the "-olp" thing because I'd get Music Man copies by OLP, which I wasn't up for.

Its a long shot, but any chance you'd want to trade for my Ray? This color is driving me crazy. I can't EBMM discontinued this color.

Sorry. If I do come around to sell this beauty, I'd much rather have cash than another StingRay. Have you tried looking on eBay for one?

Its not the color I have thats driving me crazy, its the color I want. I just sold my Translucent Teal Stingray, but now I'm using that money to purchase a Stratus Blue Sparkle Ray.
