Well it appears I did something a little stupid.

I had my guitar serviced the other day. The guy was so happy about getting a great gutar to work on he didn't charge me for the service and only charged me for the replacement switch AUS$20, very nice of him.

Anyway he REMINDED me that the pickups are Seymour Duncans, I'd totally forgotten that I replaced the originals shortly after getting the guitar (old pickups really lacked the kick of the SD's).

So, some of you may know I've had the guitar for 15 years..............................so now you can all get in line to tell me what a dick I am for forgetting where I put the original pickups.

Basically they are either in England or Australia, the other option is my mum throw them away :(

I'M AN IDIOT

You're talking about your Silhouette, right Scotty? I guess, as old as yours is, it either had Schaller pickups in it originally or the PAF Pros. The PAF Pros that are stock in that guitar now are more a medium gain pickup - not hot, but they work well with a good amp and have tons of variety in them... I've played Schaller pickups in an Ibanez S-Series guitar I had once, but I don't know how that model would compare with the ones EB/MM were using back in the day... I know that mine weren't really hot either, but were good sounding pickups; I was very pleased with them in fact, because I'd never heard Schaller pups before and was afraid they might be up there with Mighty Mites or something  Anyway, you don't have to worry; you can find PAF Pros on eBay easily enough if you want another set, and there's even a set of the original Schallers up on eBay right now - who knows, they could have once been yours... :D
