SUB 1 questions

I ve been going into this shop and trying the SUB1 line for quite some time, and I tried, really tried to find a dog....but I couldnt.
I could not believe it. Appearance wise, they r not my cup of tea but sound wise they r great guitars. Not to mention feel...tho the neck could be a bit beefier up top.Nevermind.
What I wanted to know is, what up wth that new nut design? Is it something int the Earvana territory, meaning, to help with the tuning or is it just a thing that looks cool and gives you problems replacing it, once worn out, hahahaha!
Also, I was totally surprised with the electronics and the trem.Very clear sounding very defined. The trem was really functional and holds tune well. Also,
what kind of locking tuners r those used on the SUB1 line?
One last question...
the MM site and my exprience so far has shown me hat SUB1 MM axes come with chrome metal pguards, yet, the las tim I visited the shop I saw one Sub guitar with a regular plastic guard
Is this something new?

thanx a lot

!

you can get a sub with the diamondplate or matte black pickguard. The nut is our new compensated nut that helps intonation in the lower fret area. These are kicka$$ guitars at an afordable pricepoint, MADE IN THE USA! Buy one! Now!..I'll wait.:D

Can't be done Horse, sorry. If I remember correctly the compensated nuts is deeper into the neck than the older style nut. Your gonna have to stick with what you've got. :)

But I recall them doing upgrades on higher end ones, or am I wrong?

Nope no upgrade, requessts for upgrades, but unless you have a broken neck I'm pretty sure they don't replace the nut.

At this time we do not do retro-fits for compensated nuts. As BP says. never say never, but I don't see this happening for a long time, if at all.

Oh well. I guess I just have to get a second one. I really want the white one with black pickguard. If I get funding for next semester, maybe I will.
