See pic sent today from my paint guy - I should receive it tomorrow or Friday, then I'll put her back together. I bought a black AND a clear pickguard because I couldn't decide which one would look better. I'll post pics of both p/g's and you can vote.

Gorgeous!

If the screwholes are filled, do you really want to put a pickguard on it? Although I could see if you did as I had the PG off my Honey Burst Ray the other day and thought it looked a little plainer for it.

I wouldn't put the guard back on, either. That's absolutely the most pimped-out SUB ever!

If you don't mind me asking, what was the price on the refin?

As far as I know, the paint guy did not fill the p/g holes because I sort of planned on using the p/g. I always liked the look of the pre-eb rays in silver w/black p/g, so that's what I had in mind. Regarding the countours - I had a local shop cut in the standard gut/forearm cuts - no countours on the upper horn, just weird lighting on the pic. The color is silver flake from martybellfinishing.com - $335.00 - not bad considering the famous Pat Wilkins was going to "sub" it out to a local guy that charges $500. Sadowsky wants $3000+ for one of his silver sparkle J basses - ouch! No p/g, huh? Well, I'll have to wait 'til I get it because like I said, I think the holes are still there - I just can't tell from the pic.

$335 for contouring AND painting? Is the guy who did it in LA, or did you have to send it somewhere? I am really interested in this modification you are doing as I have thought about doing something similar to my SUB1.

Looks GREAT.

IMO, its pretty dang close to EBMMs discontinued Silver Sparkle:

Oh my. This is giving me some thoughts on my SUB that I can't afford to have.

Purple sparkle...mmm.

That finish is incredible. I'm sure it's going to look even better with the bass assembled. Is the finish glossy, or is that just a sheen from the picture?
