SUB finish Question

Ok the SUBs are finished in that heavy duty textured finish. Rather than sanding the whole body does anyone know what types of chemical strippers can be used in order to remove the finish? Maybe one of the factory guys know, I'm sure there's been a spill or sumthing lol. Thanks

I recently bought a SUB4 and gotta say, I kinda like the finish. It is my new road warrior, no need to worry about scratches or dings! There is tour pictures around here that show the SUB body naked, and it ain't so pretty.

Oh I dont plan on making it a natural finish. I'm going to refinish it in either shell pink or powder blue. If anything I'll just sand down the finish thats on there and use that as a base coat. only reason I dont want to do that is because then I have to find a good color to start with like white. Otherwise I'm afraid the old color will come through.

Yeah, I think the tough finish is the best part of the SUBs. I was actually in shock when I FINALLY found a scratch on the back of my bass two days ago. I actually thought it was bulletproof so it hurt a bit. Must've been a belt buckle. But then I remembered it's a SUB and it's not meant to be pampered so I feel better now.
