Sub PG question

Hi,just got hold of a used Sub bass in teal.The previous owner didnt have the diamond plate PG but had a clear one on it.I'm sure this would look great on a trans finish Ray but for this bass I'd like a plain white one.

my question is : are the PGs interchangeable between the Ray and Sub basses?

If thats the case I'll get onto my local shop to order me one,or better still... any UK forumites fancy a straight exchange?

I've changed one out with no issues.

The 4 string SUB p/gs can be replaced with a Stingray p/g.

The Stingray p/g won't fit a 5 string SUB though.

How do you fancy an abalone pick guard?

abalone would be a good combo with teal.I'd be up for that.PM me how you want to go from here

Or you could print out a piece of paper w/ whatever underneath the clear and presto/changeo new pickguard, that's what I did, I'll post pics later

hi,didnt think of that but did have ideas long the same lines as David Bowie's bass player (Gail Anne Dorsey I think it was) She used to have this white StingRay she played a lot.It had a b/w pic of Marilyn Monroe,underneath a clear plate most likely.I always thought it looked way cool when I saw her with with that bass.
I'm hoping the abalone works out just fine.I'm thinking it will(reading that abalone is the new tort and goes with just about everything).I can always get a white or black one later if it doesnt.

for what its worth I'm impressed with the Sub bass.It certainly helps ease the pain of having to sell my Ray a couple of months back.I'm hoping that getting used to the painted neck will help me trade her up for a Bongo sometime in the future.For now she's good.
