I have only seen the SUB bass, and played it for awhile, and loved the sound of it- and I am not even a bass player! The pickguard though looked a little, um, lets say not as nice as the rest of the bass.
I love the idea, just don't like the thin piece of faux diamond plate...maybe something thicker?

Or maybe some plain brushed chrome? I'd love to try the guitar when they make it to this area (Tampa) and when I get one, I think I'm gonna have to replace that pickguard with something that fits the rest of the instrument..yeah I know, good luck finding something...I do know some people at a metal shop though...

You can get the SUB 1 guitar with a flat black plastic pickguard as well as with the faux diamond plate one, so just order yours with the plain guard, if you prefer. As to a "chrome" guard, I had a mirror guard on a Jem, and trying to keep it semi-clean was a huge pain; never, ever again! :p

Well, I for one am a SUB1 owner and I love it...for the money this guitar is the best there is, even beating out more expensive brands...tone, playability, everything is sweet on this baby...now you mention the pick guard, and I am glad you did, cause at first I was a little aprehensive when I first gazed upon my sweet child...but hey beauty is skin deep and to me this is the most beautiful guitar...I look at it, as having character. GO for it, you won't be dissapointed! ;)

Wow, cool, I didn't know that flat black was an option. My idea for chrome was the brushed chrome, where you wouldn't have to worry about the shinyness, because there wouldn't be any.
