Hello, i'm new to this forum and i got a question about the EB VP Jr 25k that i bougth second hand. I use it in the effectloop of a Vox AD60VT and i understand that this is the best place for use with an passive guitar (Fender 72 tele thinline). I use it primairly for violin-like swells with OD en delay.
Does the 25k version have a taper-switch to change the swell-type? I'm not quite satisfied with it right now. At the first 3/4 of the range i get no significant difference in the volume, only at the end of the sweep. What could be wrong or is this normal for this kind of volumepedal?

Thanks for your help.
Jan

Hi Jan,

I'm no expert on these, but I have one too and it doesn't have a switch. I believe some of the bigger 250k versions have a taper switch.

The pot is audio (log) taper, so the throw of the pedal will not be linear. Just like the taper on the volume pot in your guitar.

I've got the 250k VP Jr and it *does* have the taper switch.

Just thought I'd chime in with that factoid. :)

Are there some VPJR pedals without the dip switch? I can't find any switch on my pedal.....confused.com!

Could someone post a picture of what the switch looks like so that I know what I am trying to find? Thanks!

it's a tiny slider switch that's located under the toe/top end. the switch faces the heel/bottom end. it's inside the pedal casing, so not mounted on the top surface....you have to look for it. sorry no pic.

Vp jr

Ive got a VP JR Volume pedal which has the switch and another VP JR 25k that has no switch????
I use these with my Ground Control Pro and TC GMajor2 to control volume & expression
I note that the switch position is not making a difference with my rig?

I've just bought a vp jr 25k pedal and there is no switch on it, however, my VPJR Volume pedal does have the switch.

VP Jr, refers to the size of the pedal- smaller than the regular VP. It comes in 25k and 250k versions (with the 250k having the toggle).

The 25k (low impedance) is intended for active signal chains (in an FX loop, after a buffer, etc.) whereas the 250k is for a high impedance signal chain, e.g. after the output of a passive guitar.
