Any of you Floyd experts have an opinion on this? Here's how I re-string my EVH & Axii; Ball end of strings on the headstock. Any opinions???

I string with the plain end into the headstock like you do, but I only leave a little wrapped, so I cut off about six inches with the ball attached.

use to cut the ball and string the guitar in a normal way when I had mine, to be honest I don't think this makes any difference

That's the way I have been stringin' mine for years. Just wish I could get locking tuners that fit right on an Axis.

You can use the ones they put on the Albert Lee. You can put them on a little crooked in the factory holes, or redrill new holes a little over. I kept mine crooked...I think it bothers Slav more than it bothers me...and he's never even played it!

Thats the only way to string up your balls buddy!!!!! I've been doing it that way since the late Eighties. By the way, nice Guitar!!!

I've done it that way (leaving the ball ends up on the tuners) for many years.

Always seemed to be the easiest & quickest to me.

Neale,
Thanks for letting me win that round(lol). At least you know that I wont trade it for something crappy like some other dudes on here, right?

I cut the ball ends off. I don't like the way that the string wraps with the ball end on and I'm not accurate enough cutting the other end to minimize wraps.

We like Ozzy's guitar!!!! It's the one that ran away.....:p. Thats a pretty impressive signature their buddy...are you going to NAMM.
