The accuracy/inaccuracy of online dealer inventory thingamjig.

I believe everytime a dealer sells something they are suppose to update their stock. Which is great for consumers but only a few dealers use it. It has the potential to be a great tool for buyers.

I'm not sure if there is a better definition for it, but that is pretty much spot-on.

BTW- We love our on-line dealer inventory thingamajig.

Yeah, I believe that when EBMM ships an order, they add the contents of the shipment to that dealer's inventory. It's up to the dealer to log in and reduce the inventory after the instruments are sold. Seems easy enough, yet a lot of dealers can't be bothered. Shame they can't see what this little database can do for them.

Good point BP never thought of it as pro for the dealer just customer.

Yah man Royal Music listing is way off. It's like they never remove anything that they've sold.

See Pete and Nick are smart, keep it up to date and they will come.

I've located a lot of guitars thru the dealer locator, I just hope Chewie does a nice job with the update for the updated MM site. :D

The Elderly Instruments list looks huge on the MM online site. Somehow, I bet that when I visit them, I won't find quite as many instruments as I see on the MM site. :(

Came back from Elderly. I found 2 basses and a Luke with a nick in the finish. It seemed from their online inventory on the MM online site that they had something like 10 times that amount of stuff. Who knows? Maybe, that other stuff was tucked away somewhere for mail order. Somehow, I don't think so.

I have noticed that dealers rarely remove sold items from their list. However, I have noticed that the most recent items appear at the bottom of the inventory list. If it is close to the bottom of the list then it is likely that they still have it (I found my JP6 LE this way).

only a fraction of dealers use this and its sick that we are trying to send them customers.

BUT THANK YOU THAT YOU ARE!!!

I know that for a small independent dealer like ourselves the Dealer Inventory feature is an amazing tool to have. I mean, heck, our stock is listed on the manufacturers website!!

and BP, really, thank-you, there really are enough of out here that do appreciate what you do to hopefully make up for it
