ok, i just tried to send it and it freaked out, so here it is again.....

ok, cause jon won't let me swap out necks..

anyone have a stingray neck (mint condition), that has a black headstock they would be up for trading for a mint condition all natural headstock.

I think my burnt apple would look sweet with a black headstock.

yeah.. neck trade anyone?!

thanks!

Joel,

Its not my policy, it is the company's policy. I am just a humble repair tech, and have no control over things like that:)

I know that, I was just giving you a hard time.

but seriously, why you gotta be so stubborn about giving out free necks?!?! :p

(please not the sarcasm included in my previous inquiry. Jon does not give out free necks, but, as per tradition of the music industry, anyone who works at teh factory or knows someone who works at the factory, can instantly get unlimited free stuff. This is common knowledge... because things only cost money at the retailer, who of course doesn't pay for them in the first place, so they should all be soooo much cheaper!

thanks!

A MM neck with a black headstock? I believe you're talking about those limited edition runs with the same necks (the only, I think, to feature such) from a while ago. Hehheh... You're gonna have a splendid time trying to convince the proud owner of a limited edition MM bass to unscrew the neck and hand it over! :p

not a graphite headstock, just the front of painted black, like a black bass with matching hdstk?
or were you talking about the onyx? i want the natural neck with black painted headstock...

it's always possible!

i'm not sure i want a graphite neck anyway..

Hm... I guess I'm mistaken, then. However, I have never seen a black headstock except those on SUB models (which have a luster-less black finish) and the limited edition runs (which have a lovely shiny black finish). I was assuming you were refering to those. Wheter or not they are graphite, I do believe you'll have to work your rhetoric on someone with a limited ed. bass to get him/her to give it up to you! :p

yeah, check it out, courtesy of eb's build an instrument.

i want to turn A into B.

Ah... Now I see what you mean. I apologize to you and the mods for wasting bandwidth with my ignorance. :p

Great Neck, NY

There's someone locally who's selling a pre-EB Stingray neck attached to a Fender J-Bass body. Is that even possible?

I also noticed that some early G&L basses have 3-bolt necks...are these compatible with the 3-bolt Musicman basses?

this is a complete blasphemy!!!!!!

I have a similar problem. You see I have a rosewood fingerboard stingray and I want to change it with a maple. The thing is that new musicman necks(you can only have them provided you return the old ones to the company) are quite pricey so....
Anyone interested in an exchange?Anybody interested in the taste of sweet rosewood?

The first Cutlass I ever saw... wasn't a Cutlass at all: it was a Cutlass neck on a Jazz body!

disquieter,
dont you mean B into A? i thought you wanted to go from a plain headstock to a black one, not a black one to a plain one.
