I've been wrestling with what to do and how to do it, and I've had some good advice on this, so let's just get it out of the way and be done with it.

1. Steve "The Dude" Barr is an authorized EBMM Dealer.
2. Steve has hired me to be his sales rep for EBMM products.

What does this mean for you? Well, it means that you know me, you know EBMM basses (and guitars, for that matter) and I will work hard to get you what you want and have Steve lick your bass.

I have thought about this a lot and offered to give up my moderator position but my resignation was not accepted. If, in the future, it proves to be some kind of conflict of interest, then we will drive off that bridge when we come to it.

Hah hah, little Ted Kennedy joke there.

The way I think it will go is that things will not change an awful lot. I will still be just who I am, only you can PM me or email me for information, availability, prices and so on. Do NOT expect me to beat other dealers by some significant amount or meet or beat your local GC dealer.....we (Steve and I) are happy to be where we are, selling the best basses ever, but the fact is that the deal you get from the other authorized guys here is about what you will get from us.

I will continue to support Doug at Daddy O's and the other good people who participate in this modern experiment.

I will also continue to tell you the truth as I understand it.

The bottom line is that I, along with the other authorized EBMM dealers who are here on the forum, are about equal on what we can do for you. You will continue to play the best basses on earth, I'm sure, and know that we - all of us, including the customer service humans at EBMM - will take good care of you.

If I step out of line, I will expect you to fix me.

So - let me know, as always, if I can help you.

This has been really tough to write, and I am doing the best I can to treat everyone, including myself, fairly.

You guys rock.

Jack

Nicely said Jack, it was worth the struggle!

Wishing you all the best with your endeavours.

Hey Kids

Last week bovine tried to resign and I wouldn't accept it. In my mind I wish that more dealers would join the family. That would mean that more dealers had the passion and knowledge of the rest of you dealers and knuckleheads.

THere is a fine line between ridiculous and stupid, (god I still love spinal tap) and I think that all of the dealers on this board handle themselves very well.

Well said Jack. You are a man that commands much respect in my book.

Enjoy both your new position and old.

Hey Jack,

I wouldn't expect anything less than that. Keep up the good work. I know you won't let your business get in the way of your business here. I expect the same old Jack that we've all grown to know and respect.

Big Poppa and I just agreed to do this so we could find a way for Jack to be able to stay at home (next to his new pool) in his underwear and a laptop and not have to go get a real J-O-B.

ps: To all other participating EBMM dealers. Keep in touch with Jack and let him know what you may or may not have in inventory. I refer customers back and forth with other dealers on other product lines that VBTC carries all the time and don't see why we wouldn't on EBMM products as well. The "goal" here is to get EBMM customers what they want, when they want it and if you got it and we don't it's better to get the bass into the customer's hands as fast as possible.

You know, this is pretty cool. The company, the dealer, and the customer all on the same page. This is a good thing and I've never seen it before, thanks to all.

That is funny.

Good on ya, Jack! This is really something wonderful we're exposed to here, everybody being on the level, hip with it, down with the jive, cool to the beat. Y'know. That's Definately proof that there's something more than just amazing instruments with EBMM. My kudos to the lot of you, yet again.
