Thin Ray neck option

I think musicman used to offer a thinner jazz-style neck for the SR as well. The SRs wearing this neck are quite rare. Do you know if it wasn't commercially succesful? If EBMM offered this option, would you go for it? Do you know whether the sterling neck has the same width etc as the old SR jazz neck?
