this guy is talking crap right?

Every once in awhile there's a one-piece body made. I believe my Sterling HS is a one-piece. But most of the time it may look like a one-piece but it's actually two very well matched pieces of wood.

The glue holding the two-piece bodies together is supposed to be stronger than the wood itself, so I'm not sure what the point would be to having a one-piece body, besides looks or rarity.
 
I don't think he's talking c**p, he is probably overly excited about selling what in fact is a very nice bass. Perhaps his native language is not English, by the way he answered to a spanish question in spanish my bet is that he might be Mexican, still... some lucky buyer will get a very nice bass hopefully at a very good price.
 
i wonder if this is the premium natural finish eb offers?
 
My SR5 is clearly a one piece body. Looks really sweet!

the best way to tell if it's a one piece is not to look at the front or back. Look at the side near the strap button on the bridge end. the grain will let you know.

i've heard this too. but i've also seen some cases where the joint isn't exaclty at the center of the bass (ie. around the strap button). i bleeb checking the the general area on the edge that is around the strap or the neck heel for continuous grain is a good test for one-piece-ness.*

* take each statement at most once a day with a glass of warm water from the dead sea

i meant looking at the whole side not just the center, I had a guitar that I thought was a one piece but turns out it wasn't. this is the guitar below and isn't a one piece.

i will check out my teal sterling i just never heard anyone mention 1 piece bodies i just presumed they all one piece.its is one of the nicest grain patterns ive seen
 
Yeah I heard about 1 piece MM's as well. Never seen one in person but this one might be it.
Just checked my sunburst Sterling and it isn't a 1 piece body. Seems like one of the "wings" on the side is glued on. The cut isn't always in the middle of the body. that's for sure.
And with a good matching piece it is hard to tell where the cut is.

I looked at my SL4 over last night and believe it to be a 1 piece body. Mind you I also thought that the neck was one piece as well, what do I know? One thing for certain, it is an example of top notch constuction and will probably outlive me.
