Friday was a very very good day.....

From right to left.

Black Sparkle John Petrucci - I bought this second hand but it never really felt "right". If you bent strings around the 9th - 12th fret it felt what can only be described as "scratchy". I took it in to Charlie Chandlers in London - he plek'd it and made it play like a dream.

Rosewood Axis Super Sport, HH, hardtail - its finally here :)) ) and very very nice it is too. Love the compensated nut and the neck is sublime.

Finally Steve Morse - yeah I know I said I didnt like the scratchplate or the colour but I got a hell of a trade in on a G&L Fullerton that I never played anymore. Great birdseye neck. Needs a black scratchplate and a possible respray (ideas for colours more than welcome though black or blue pearl currently head the list).

Finally I have just blagged some tickets on eBay for the Purple show in London on Tuesday - hopefully I can let Steve give it the once over in person :D

Damn I'm enjoying life!!!!

Great Dave, any chance of more detailed photos? BTW I like the Morse the way it is. I can imagine years from now that being a very rare guitar because of the colour.

I dunno...I think he needs help.

I never meant to get three in a day.

In my defence........

The Pet was already in the cabal - I just happened to pick it up from the Dr's on Fri.

The Axis SS was the only one I actually bought with money - and that had been on the cards for a long time.

Because the Morse was a trade no money changed hands so it cant count - right?

When I get more time I'll take more photos. (Need to get a photobucket account for some serious piccage)

I was thinking of black scratch on the Morse with a possible move to the Y2D switching setup. Like Steve now I dont think I would ever use the angled single coil. Its not the most straightforward switching setup as it stands.

I reckon that Morse needs white pickups or maybe a torty scratchplate? Black might possibly look too dark.

Looks that way on both counts

Nice scores - The Morse is interesting as is, but if your going to change it up anyway, why not think a bit and come up with something custom.

Rosewood neck = sweet ;)

Great idea with the pickups, I only use those 3 live myself. Photobucket is free too.

I thought about this when I re-did my Morse. I bought a "Super Switch" and was all set to do it. But in the end I decided I like the uniqueness of the original switching system so I bailed on it. Love to see what you come up with though!

Haha Dave I think you're one of the members (Well besides Ernie) which EBMM collection is increasing every month! (I believe ernie gets one every week:p )
When did you 'discover' EBMM? Wasn't it spring 2005?

I'm not a fan of that Steve Morse (that color...) but that Rosewood Axis SS is gorgeous!

My first EBMM was an Axis Sport bought for my birthday in April 2005.

I now have 10 (or maybe 11 :) - could be 12......)
