Seems like Bongo knobs turn effortlessly- whereas the Stingray knobs have a little resistance that help them stay in place a bit better. Is there a way to create this resistance on the Bongo controls? When slapping on the Stealth, my hand tends to bump the knob and by the end of the song, the volume is down. If I could just tighten it up a little...

hi buddy, try what I did, get a small teflon washer, remove your volume knob and place the washer on the shaft then replace the volume knob and hold it down with a little bit of pressure and tighten the set screw, this will put friction between the bottom of the knob and the face of the pot sleeve. this will not on the other knobs that have the center detent, because when those pots are in the detent position they drop down just a hair, so if you try this on one of them you will lose your detent, hope this helps.

Fender '62 Reissue Jazz Stackpot controls have these little washers in them which tighten up the controls and also provide multiple detents for the outer ring. They may work.

I'va also had a similar problem, but that is because I can't put my bass at full volume. My amp can't handle it. I've thought about finding a solution to this, but at the same time I think it's not a good idea since I play Van Halen's "Cathedral" with my bass and a smooth-spinning knob is best for this. BTW, and please excuse me for derailing the thread for a moment, is it a bad idea to turn the volume knob that way? (I assume you know how EVH plays this piece)
