After playing with my new Stingray HH I am in love. I had a set of Ernie Ball Group IV flats and decided to get rid of the dead sandpaper strings that came on this bass (pretty sure they weren't slinkys). If you haven't tried the EB flats, you should. I was expecting a muted more thumpy tone, but am very pleasantly surprised by the mid range and brilliance of these strings especially compared to other traditional type flats that I have played in the past. These are actually fairly slappable too. I think this bass will stick with these for a while.

So my theory on MM's is the following:

1. Bongos shalt have 1 pickup
2. Stingrays shalt have 2

And for the record, here is a pic I took with some natural light this morning. This thing is so pretty its almost a shame to photograph it.

I love how different that finish looks when you photograph it in all the different lights. Absolutely stunning! Is that finish in your guide already?

Darn, had a feeling it might be. I acctually just got back from GC and spent some time on a HH Ray, definately alot of great sounds. That finish is awesome by the way, is that one of those canadian only finishes, red pearl or sumthing?
