TOTO Falling In Between!!! Feb 14th

Wedding Anniversaire Release date!

Released on my first Wedding anniversary.......bonus!

That'll do nicely for the missus! :)

Why doesn't the U.S. get extra tracks on our albums? Most bands realease extra ones on foreign markets. Is it a popularity issue? What I think should happen (like my opinion will spawn anything) is that you should have a regular printing of the album for sale in the cd stores, then a separate printing sold on the band's website w/ an extra song or two for the diehard fans. Charge an extra buck.

i read this on brian setzer's page about this issue - i dunno if it applies all around but here's what they have to say:

"The reason that the Japanese CDs normally contain
songs that are not available in other markets has to
do with Japan's importing laws. The Japanese are often
able to purchase imported CDs for less money than it
costs to buy their own domestic products. In order to
persuade Japanese music lovers to buy their own versions
of popular recorded music, "bonus" or "extra" tracks are
included in order to make the disc(s) more desirable. In regard
to the second part of the question, Brian's incredible success
in Japan and the loyalty of his audience there makes it possible
for him to tour there often. The Japanese have been treated
to exclusive CDs (the "Luck Be A Lady" EP for instance)
because Brian's fan base there is so strong that it supports
the decision to make such products available.
"

Thanks Phatduckk.

I guess it makes sense. W/ the way the internet is today it shouldn't be too hard to get the import.

The import won't be hard to get, but it sucks having to pay substantially more than for the U.S. release just for the extra song. What sucks even more is I'll bet most of that extra money doesn't go into the band's pocket.

I'd gladly pay a little bit extra for an album with that extra track if purchased directly from the band. I like that idea.

Some seller son Ebay are already taking orders for the january 25th Jap Import release for arounf $30. I think I may go for it instead of waiting until 14th Feb to get the standard release version! Do a search on Flea-Bay and you'll see!

Found a pre order for £22 Tim, including P&P. If you don't get one....let me know.

Might buy both versions...I've ended up with two versions of KoD, Mindfield and Live In Amsterdam. In fact, the US version of KoD had Kick Down The Walls exlcuively, where the Japanese version had the live version of Little Wing, and us Europeans got nothing extra at all

CDJapan have already sold out of the first pressing!!! Looks like people have been waiting with real anticipation for this one. Have to say, when I first heard the chorus of Bottom Of The Soul when Jo Williams voice joined Steve's, I got a big shiver down the spine!!

Ali,

Did you pre order the £22 one? Let me know where the same link is -I want it to!

Falling in between has a very Vai-esque bottom end similar to Real Illusions Building the Church....!?

I was in Japan when Kingdom of Desire was released, so I bought the Japanese version, and it has both Kick Down The Walls as well as the Little Wing Luke solo.

Ya, I loved hearing Joe's voice on that sample! It made me want to go and listen to The Seventh One again. :)

The song 'Taint your world' sounds like a mix of Stevie Wonder 'I Wish' and VH 'Hot for Teacher', Nice production sound too.

I've got the mp3 samples in iTunes and can't stop playing them round and round. From the sound of it, this could finally knock Tambu off the top spot of my Toto collection. It seems to have all the very best bits of old and new Toto. "No End..." has hints of White Sister and English Eyes. "King Of The World" is a bit Home Of The Brave mixed woth Stranger In Town (and I love the "animals are vicious and arrogant and they eat their young" lyric!). The guitar hook on Dying On My Feet is just classic Luke. So, so, so looking forward to this!

Who is doing vocals on Let It Go? Is that Greg? Sounds like they are doing a lot of mixing of vocal styles which is superb as well. If Lucious is looking in, thanks for what already sounds like the album of the decade :)

Been listening to Falling in Between over and over tonight on the ipod in the car up full!!!! That evil laugh just before the break is immense. What a build up! That song is awesome and just plain evil...!

This CD is a Kick Ass CD!!!! absolutely one of their best.......
Make sure you listen to it from start to finish... alot of the songs have Many different sections...... Lukes playing is Stunning and Very Restrained!!! Awesome.
Its great to hear Steve Porcaro in the mix with that great Old School Toto Synth sound, Check Out the Fade out of "King Of The World", Classic! Awesome to hear Joseph Williams on a Toto CD again. Overall the Most "Toto" sounding CD they have released in over a Decade.
