Just curious - since EBMM cases allow the trem arm's to stay on the guitar - how many people leave them on / in place vs removing them for storage in the case???/

Huh? I have two BFR koa guitars and the trem arm's stay on with both of them and fit in the case no problem. I always leave the trem arm on the guitar.

I never use the trem and all my balls are trem guitars. I have them all removed and safely stored......somewhere......I think. Not sure where they are. I'll have to use Pete's method going forward......

If I use the BCB or JP6 I leave them on as the case allows you to do that.
When I use the LEAL I have to remove the Arm as the case won't allow you to leave it in.
I sometimes use a Hiscox case that is smaller, shaped case - however I have to remove and stow the arm when I use this.

You can leave the arms on in the BFR cases but the case lid may contact the bar and depress it, slacking the strings.

I've had 6 different BFR JPs and never been able to leave the trem arm on in the case on any of them. Inside top of the case always touches the tip of the bar and puts pressure on the trem so I've never left it on.
Left it on my standard JP though since there was the cutout for it in the case. I do miss that!

Tim O Sullivan likes his trem bar so much he sleeps with it under his pillow.
Is it safe to keep guitar like this? With the tremolo touching the case and slacking the strings?

IMO - no, it's not a good idea.
A guitar, when effectively set up uses many different parameters. One of which is truss rod adjustment.
When the guitar is in the case without the lid touching then the neck is in it's "set up state".
If you were to leave the guitar in the case for a period of time with the lid touching the trem arm, then the string tension is slackened - there will now be an inclination for the
neck to want to backbow - because you no longer have parity between the truss rod / string tension.
So if you agree with my opinion - don't leave the trem arm in a guitar when the case lid depresses that trem arm

The same consideration should be given to guitars when shipping them.
Some people think that they ought to slaken the truss rod - don't do it.
