Not normally due to the width. However, even if you did need to drill a couple small holes to reinforce the TN or to position it perfectly, no big deal, it's in an area the unobservable. The good thing about it is, they are easy to install i/o whenever the urge is there.

why? JP have one of the most consistent bridges out there. Staying in tune is never an issue.
It stays in tune really well indeed, but I need to play with nonstandard tunings every now and then. I block the trem on my other guitars for this purpose, but for the JP I want to let it float whenever I use standard tuning, because the trem just feels amazing.

As long as its set up correctly its a great bit of kit , I bought one for my Tremonti for that exact reason.

I had a tremol-no on a JP years ago. I needed to make NO modifications to the guitar... it was just a simple drop in replacement for me...
