Trussrod adjustments and set up

So I have a Martin 000-16 gt and a les paul in addition to my beloved 'ray (yes I am very deprived).

I recently had the Martin professionally set up (for the first time) and it was like the greatest thing ever. The action was low and the neck was perfect.

This was about 3 months back. Well I take it out the other night and the durn neck is now a bit convex and I get buzzing at the second fret.

I am quite scared of screwing around with trussrods (as I have read somewhere you can really ruin your guitar) -- but I'm curious.

How many of you do your own set ups? How user friendly is trussrod adjusting?
Should I leave it to the pros? Is it a skill worth learning?

It's really not that hard, and you can do it!! If the neck is convex(back bowed) the truss rod needs to be loosened. Just a little at a time. There is detailed info in the FAQ section here. it works the same for all guitars.

Hm... I'd think that threads regarding g****** should be in the Music Man Guitar section, no? In any case, JF's got it down - that thread should do it.

except mine with matching head
