Thanks to 'Strummer' (and other Forumites) for calling my attention to
- my language and
- 'communication' style

But out of 'fairness' to all,
- let's be completely honest
- I'm think I'm not the only one who 'plays'
- with 'english' words here on the Forum
~
Are there ESL (English Second Language) musicians, particularly Music Man bass players, out there in cyberspace who look into this forum for help, information, or just plain fun and who are having trouble understanding or finding what they need because of how we, particularly we North Americans 'play' with words, make 'inside jokes', and generally 'roughhouse' with each other ???

~
Partly why I'm asking, is because I grew up with North American and British 'pop' music of all varieties, and now, while doing research on the work and life of Frank Zappa, I'm learning quite a lot about American culture ...

Let's face it, EBMM basses are 'of' and 'from' the 'heartland' of the electric bass guitar, and these instruments are an integral part of American music, and they have had, and continue to have a profound effect on the 'global' world of 'pop' music.

~
Sorry if this thread seems to start with a 'wordy' post ... I actually spent many years in business travel and have some experience 'translating English to English' for 'international' work associates.

My goal is simply to help and support the enjoyment of Music Man basses and the music we can all make with them :)

BP, Beth , Dr.Bovine - if I'm outaline here, whack me upside the head ???

>>>>Your choice of words is easy to understand. It's the formatting that's a puzzle.

I Agree.

Sorry Rayan, I just don't have enough reading time to work it all out :)

Rayan your posts always make things more interesting, and make me feel like my life is becoming more so like 'Clerks' the animated series. Think randomness. :)

Anyhow, I have only but one thing that boggles me.

Jack's a Doctor too?

Sometimes I think, "Man, that Rayan is exactly on" and sometimes I think, "What the HELL is he talking about?"

But I'd rather be confused than bored, so party on, dude.

the rather be a lord than a doctor anyway,

Jack

Nowadays you make sense, Rayan:D
It was all those $$zz and other strange ways to spell, as well as you fondness for using small parts of sentences that made your posts hard to understand for me.

Still, this kind of text formatting confuses me, and I do not understand the purpose:
"But out of 'fairness' to all,
- let's be completely honest
- I'm think I'm not the only one who 'plays'
- with 'english' words here on the Forum"

But now I *think* I get your points, so it's all good:D

Just Play Music, Man !

~

"Dr. Cliff Arnall, a British psychologist, has developed a formula to determine the worst day of the year. One factor is the time elapsed since Christmas, when the holiday glow has given way to the reality of credit-card bills. Gloomy winter weather, short days, and the failure to keep New Year's resolutions are also a part of Dr.Arnall's calculations. Last year, January 24 received the dubious distinction of being "the most depressing day of the year.""

Q. - Is this an International condition?

It seems to me that *any* day without a Music Man bass is 'depressing';
- isn't that 'why' we play Music, Man ?

Hey 'Dr Stankface',
Not to be too philosophical, in my travels, music seems to 'bridge' open spaces
- your friendly reply reminded me of "The London Howlin' Wolf Sessions"

"I Ain't Superstitious", I'm just a "Poor Boy" who's "Worried About My Baby"

Gotta "Wang-Dang-Doodle" 4 now,

Doctor Anal sure got something seriously wrong, as 1/24/2006 was a great day. I mean, I turned 40:eek:
