Upcharge for Matching Headstock on Bongo?

As I was starting the order for my Bongo today, the salesman I was talking to told me that there was an upcharge for ordering a "matching headstock" on a Bongo. Since the whole neck is finished to match the body, isn't this like ordering cheese on a cheese pizza? It struck me as odd.

Anyway, the order for my Bongo 4 HH in Radiance Red with a white pickguard is started, so I should have it eventually. What's the lead time on an order like this?

Where did you order this from? Matching headstocks aren't an upcharge, but Radience Red is $100.00 retail. Typically an order takes around three months to complete.

Hiya

The normal lead time can be anywhere between 3-4 months! Be prepared for a looooooong wait! ;)

As for the neck, I don't think he should have charged you - maybe the guys here can shed some light on that?

Whereabouts are you? Of course, if you are outside the US, I imagine that the shipping could perhaps add a couple of weeks onto the lead time as well...

I was ordering it through Make'n Music in Chicago.

Fortunately, I did not COMPLETE the order, so I have spent no money(yet), and I'll be able to rectify this tomorrow when their senior sales guy calls me. I'll actually order the bass tomorrow.

I just think that the salesman didn't get the idea that the Bongo neck is, by definition, matching, even though there should have been one right across from him while he was talking to me.

I'm sure that the salesman was just confused. Make N Music is an excellent dealer. Remember that the color is an upcharge color though.

The salesman sounded like he didn't see the "Bongo-Matching Rosewood" option on the price sheet.

We'll work it out tomorrow.

I like Radiance enough to pay that upcharge. :D

+1 on make n music ....... they are top of the heap.....
they are one of the few guytron amp dealers in the country.......so it's obvious they are smart gearheads !!!!! :D

I love Make'n Music.

Their salespeople are just human, and make the occasional mistake.

Visit them if you're in the area. You'll have a great time, and the service/selection are incredible.

I love Make'n Bacon! Oops, did I say that?

Demand the non matching headstock. When the bass arrives demand your $100 back because you didn't want that. :D
Or you could not be a DH like me. If you like Rad Red You will love Rad Red
